Amy Tindel, M.Ed.

Amy Tindel is a resident of Fort Worth and has taught for the Fort Worth Independent School District since 2004. Currently Amy is ESL certified, HAP certified through FWISD, and a dyslexia contact for her school. Amy has taught second grade language arts and is currently teaching fourth grade language arts.
Working at FWISD’s Day School for the Deaf, as a regular education teacher, Amy has experience teaching in classrooms with a variety of learners. She has also had the opportunity to mentor student teachers from Texas Christian University and other local colleges. Amy obtained her Masters in Education, with a reading specialist certification from Texas Weslyan.
Amy likes to make learning fun through a hands on approach. Her students enjoy acting out novels in class, writing commercials (instead of book reports), having book themed parties, and completing authentic work samples to correlate with their reading. One of Amy’s greatest joys is hearing a child say that they enjoy learning and reading.
When Amy is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.
